We raise our cats and kittens with love and care within our family, so they are ready to join yours. We are happy to schedule for you to meet your kitten in person or over video chat, so you can see how we keep our home and our cats. We encourage staying connected even after you take kitten home - we love updates on our starlings! Each kitten comes with their own contract of adoption, for our security and yours. (Please see the 'Kitten Care' page which has our sample contract, and more info on bringing home kitten and everything you'll need!)
Ragdolls are a blue eyed, pointed breed, with floppy; loving; gentle purrsonalities. All kittens are cute - but don't be scammed into paying for a discount 'Ragdoll' that won't grow up to actually look or act like a 'doll!
Mittenstar kittens are bred for qualities that fit the Ragdoll Breed Standard and made the Ragdoll famous.
We are proud of our imported and homebred lines which show generations of healthy, pointed cats.
We run a small, ethical cattery so we can properly care for all of our cats.
We do not cage our cats away - they have free run of our home.
All of our cats are genetically tested and negative for hereditary disease, like PKD and HCM - and we are proud to be an FIV / FeLV free cattery. Our little starlings are vaccinated, de-wormed, and healed from their spay/neuter when they are ready to go home to you.
Each kitten comes with a 5 year genetic health guarantee in their contract.
All of the pictures on our website are my own photography taken of our Mittenstar cats and kittens!
Photography is one of my passions! I put a lot of work into taking cute pictures of every litter, and all of our breeding cats as they have grown up with us, so you can see the quality and beauty of our Ragdolls.
You can find out more about each one on the page 'Our Cats', and about our current / past kittens under the 'Information' drop down menu!
Please see our Kitten page for our details on pricing!
We accept deposits and reservations once kittens are old enough to be evaluated.
As we are a small cattery, we only have a limited number of kittens available per year. Please follow us on our FACEBOOK and INSTAGRAM if you'd like to stay updated on when we have kittens coming!
Please see our Available Kittens page for more information
We are expecting our next litter to be in the fall of 2023!
Please see our ADOPTION PROCESS page, this walks you through the general process we have from when kittens are born, to them going home with you!
This page also has our adoption application if you are interested in joining our waitlist.

Let's be real... most kittens are adorable!
But what about how they'll act as they grow up? How about how they'll bond with you?
Ragdoll cats are special because they are one of the only cat breeds specialized to have wonderful, human loving personalities. Ragdolls are calm, gentle, and sociable. True Ragdolls are carefully selected from parents that are not only beautiful, but also laid back and affectionate.
Ragdolls should have an almost puppy-like attachment to their people. That's why each of our breeding cats have their own pages that go over their pedigrees, health, and personality! We want to show you what made us fall in love with the breed, and what the parents of our kittens are like, because temperament is very important to us!
In dogs, Huskies will instinctively pull for sledding - Border Collies will instinctively herd sheep (.... or chickens, kids, and other dogs for that matter!) and Golden Retrievers have their golden reputation for being some of the most loving, laid back, and loyal puppies around.
Cats however, aren't usually known for their personalities... except for the Ragdoll.
The Ragdoll Cat is considered the Golden Retriever of the cat world - the breed standard requires that they be just as laid back, loving, and good with people.
We are very proud to say that our Mittenstar cats follow that affectionate breed standard! Their instinct is to be with their people. Every guest we have to our home is happily surprised to be greeted by our Ragdolls, and they'll even come up and snuggle with people they've only just met.
They follow us room to room, all want to sleep on the bed with us at night, and love to hang out with us no matter what we're doing. I always have a couple of 'bathroom buddies' whether I'm taking a shower or brushing my teeth, I always have a cat (or two... or three...) who want to be in my lap while I relax and watch TV at night. Right now as I write this I have Aurora on my lap, Spirit laying on my desk pressed up against my arm as I type, and Willow curled up in the cat bed on my desk. :)
See our Cat Information Page for more details on our beautiful dolls!
Hi, my name is Loraine - I'm here with my significant other Jacob, our mini-Australian Shepherd dog Topaz... and all of our cats! Having Ragdolls has been a dream of mine many years in the making, and I couldn't be happier with the sweet, gentle cats who make up our Ragdoll family.
I prioritized getting our show-quality cats from different catteries to have a balance of the best bloodlines and health with champion proven bloodlines.
Named after the adorable 'mitted' colors that Ragdolls are known for, and after our “Mitten State”- Mittenstar Ragdolls is located in Lansing, Michigan.
From American-traditional to European imported lines, our foundation cats have the stunning looks and the sweet, gentle personalities that made the Ragdoll Cat famous.
With a Mittenstar kitten, you know you’re getting a purebred Ragdoll from heritage lines - who is guaranteed healthy, has parents that are genetically tested, and has been snuggled and socialized and is ready to fit right in with your family.
We are a loving family raising these cats with the utmost care in our home as our treasured pets. We do not cage our cats (even if it means crazy mornings tripping over cats ready for their breakfast!), and we even rotate which cats get their turns to sleep with us at night so everyone gets their chance to snuggle!
Our kittens are used to living with our dog, having friends and family over for game nights and parties, and are used to being held, carried, squished, kissed, and having their little paws touched.
If you’re new to the Ragdoll, we have information on our site that can help you learn more about this wonderful breed! We're here to help you understand the different coat colors the Ragdoll comes in, attributes, and important care tips to know before bringing your little one home, so please feel free to email us or reach out on social media with any questions you may have. We love connecting with our potential forever families, because we want to make sure we are matching the right kittens with the right homes!
Ragdoll cats make amazing family cats, first time cats, and are kind of like potato chips… It’s really hard to have just one. ;)
Please feel free to reach out to me, I'm always happy to help with any questions you may have on our cats, kittens, or about the Ragdoll breed!
